Woodbridge police continue to investigate fatal crash that killed driver and left passengers with severe injuries

WOODBRIDGE – Police are continuing to investigate a fatal one-vehicle car crash that killed the driver and injured two passengers, according to Police Sgt. Philip Agosta.

Police responded to the fatal crash on Rahway Avenue in the Avenel section of Woodbridge at 1:36 a.m. on Aug. 16.

The driver, Isaiah Hamilton, 27, of Bloomfield, was removed from his car and transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he later died.

The front seat passenger, Shavonte Green, 28, of Roselle, was removed from the car and transported to University Hospital in Newark with a severe leg injury. The back seat passenger, Armond Steide, 23, of Elizabeth, was also transported to University Hospital with a severe arm injury.

The driver allegedly veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.
