MIDDLETOWN – Four young men who are members of Boy Scout Troop 32 in Middletown have attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Troop 32 is chartered by the River Plaza School.
An Eagle Court of Honor to recognize the achievements of Kevin Krippa Jr., David F. Sperduto, Noah Van Ryck de Groot and Ryan Crespo was recently held at the Middletown United Methodist Church, according to a press release.
In attendance were the leaders of Troop 32, representatives of the Boy Scouts of America Monmouth Council and local dignitaries, including Mayor Tony Perry, as well as family members, friends and fellow scouts, according to the press release.
Collectively, these four young men earned more than 100 merit badges and have given years of leadership to the troop. Individually, each scout spent at least 100 hours on a service project, according to the press release.
Troop 32 Scoutmaster Nick Gizzi said, “These four Eagle Scouts are fine examples of what
hard work, dedication and compassion will accomplish. They are in inspiration to us all and we look forward to watching them succeed and continue to be outstanding citizens in our
community.”
Kevin Krippa Jr. is a recent graduate of the Academy of Law and Public Safety. He will attend York College, majoring in cybersecurity management.
For his Eagle Scout project, Kevin built a rock garden in an unused corner of the Leonardo Elementary School, which he attended as a child.
David F. Sperduto is a recent graduate of Middletown South High School. He will attend Rowan University, double majoring in music production and computer science.
David renovated the prayer garden at St. Catherine’s Church in Holmdel as his Eagle Scout project.
Noah Van Ryck de Groot is a recent graduate of Middletown North High School. He will attend college at New Jersey City University, majoring in secondary education.
Noah’s Eagle Scout project was creating a paver walkway for a home that is owned by the nonprofit organization HABcore, which finds temporary housing for displaced families.
Ryan Crespo is a rising sophomore at Middletown South High School. In the future, he plans to join the U.S. Marines or a police force.
For his Eagle Scout project, Ryan planned and led the painting of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179 hall in Port Monmouth, according to the press release.
