SPOTSWOOD–The Borough Council introduced an ordinance which, if adopted, will amend the municipal code authorizing stop signs at the Evelyn Terrace and Rieder Road intersection.

The intersection is located in a residential neighborhood near VFW 4589 headquarters.

Stop signs will be installed at the northwest corner of Evelyn Terrace intersecting Rieder Road. There will also be a stop sign installed on Evelyn Terrace, according to the council.

Business Administrator Dawn McDonald said adding the stop signs was recommended by the Spotswood Police Department.

The council adopted the ordinance on Sept. 9 during the council meeting via video conference. The ordinance will take effect upon final passage and publication according to law.

Chief of Police Michael Zarro could not be reached by press time.
