The Woodbridge Department of Health & Human Services – Animal Control Division is offering free rabies inoculations for dogs and cats owned by Woodbridge Township residents from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 15 and 16 at the Woodbridge Health Center, 2 George Frederick Plaza, adjacent to the Main Library and Woodbridge High School.

The rabies clinic is outdoors, but face covering are required and social distancing will be enforced.

The Animal Control Division will also sponsor a pet micro-chip clinic for Woodbridge Township dogs and cats on both days at the same time and location. Township veterinarians will be on-site to administer pet micro-chips – $25 fee includes micro-chip, administration, lifetime pet ID, and registration with Home Again, the national pet recovery database.

All Woodbridge pet owners must license and inoculate dogs and cats five months old or older. If a dog or cat has not been inoculated since 2018, the pet must be re-inoculated. Pet license, proof of prior rabies inoculation, and spay/neuter certificate must be presented at time of inoculation (except for first-time pet inoculations).

Woodbridge Township pet licenses may be purchased at the rabies clinic for unlicensed pets. Dog license fees are $18 (non-spayed/neutered) or $15 (spayed/neutered.) Cat license fees are $23 (non-spayed/neutered) and $13 (spayed/neutered).

Senior residents can inquire about reduced-fee pet licenses for senior pet owners.

Resident pet-owners in South Amboy and Roselle Park are welcome to participate in the program.

Rabies inoculation will be free with proof of licensure; non-resident $10 fee if pet is not licensed.

Adults must accompany the pet. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be contained in a closed carrier.

For more information on the rabies clinic, contact the Woodbridge Health Center at 732-855-0600, ext. 5003 or 5004 or visit www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us.
