OLD BRIDGE – A new municipal clerk will oversee the third largest township in Middlesex County starting on Oct. 1.
Mayor Owen Henry selected Gabriella Siboni, who recently served as clerk in the Borough of Milltown, as the next township clerk. The Township Council unanimously voted in favor of a resolution supporting the mayor’s selection at a special council meeting on Sept. 9.
Siboni will follow Stella Ward, who is retiring on Sept. 30 after serving the council and township for approximately 22 years.
Henry, Business Administrator Himanshu Shah and council members said they are “grateful and appreciative” of Ward’s contribution to the clerk’s office as well as her dedication and outstanding service over the years.
Henry, Shah and Council President Mary Sohor said Siboni “brings a lot of knowledge and technology skills to a position that requires strong leadership, communication, organization and records management skills as well as other skill set crucial to the smooth operation of our organization.”
She will have day-to-day oversight of the clerk’s office with responsibility for all the regular statutory duties of the municipal clerk including, but not limited to, council meetings, election responsibilities, records management, response to public records requests, licensing, vital statistics and other day-to-day functions.
Siboni most recently served as clerk in Milltown, which she began in 2016. Along with responsibilities of the clerk, she served as the secretary of the planning board and the deputy registrar of vital statistics.
She started her government career in Wall Township and has found great success in utilizing her knowledge and technology skills to create effective tools to manage operations.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina. She is certified as a registered municipal clerk, municipal registrar as well as a qualified purchasing agent.
Siboni believes in investment in community and people and has volunteered with various local organizations. Siboni said “she is excited and honored for the opportunity to work with the talented and dedicated management team and Municipal Council of the Township of Old Bridge.”
