SOUTH RIVER–South River Public Library Director Evalina Erbe has announced that the library has reopened, allowing patrons to visit by appointment only.

Easing back into full operations, Erbe said the library started browsing and computer appointments on Aug. 17 for limited hours. Since then the library expanded to a full schedule on Sept. 8.

Erbe said residents can only enter the library by appointment for 45 minutes to browse for materials and use the computers.

Upholding safety and health protocols due to the coronavirus pandemic, Erbe said limited time in the building and cleaning all areas after each 45-minute visit.

“We supply hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes for patron use. Masks must be worn at all times while in the library,” Erbe said.

Library hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; noon-9 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Erbe said that the library is still offering curbside pickup and residents can call to schedule a pickup order.

“We are happy to see everyone in person and hope that everyone stays healthy so we don’t have to limit access to the library again,” Erbe said.
