TINTON FALLS – The Tinton Falls Borough Council has awarded a contract to a Freehold Township company that will develop an recreational facility in the municipality.
During a recent meeting, council members awarded the $1.15 million contract to Shore Top Construction for the development of Traditions Park between Wardell and Shafto roads, near the Foxchase residential development.
Borough Engineer Thomas Neff of T&M Associates recommended that the contract be awarded to Shore Top Construction, according to a resolution.
According to a report from Neff, five bids were received for the contract. In addition to Shore Top Construction, Precise Construction bid $1.16 million for the job, Your Way Construction bid $1.48 million, James R. Ientile bid $1.52 million, and Seacoast Construction bid $1.88 million.
Shore Top Construction was awarded the contract as the lowest bidder.
Neff estimated the project would cost $1.29 million, according to his report, making Shore Top Construction one of the contractors that submitted a bid that was less than the estimated amount.
According to Neff, the development of Traditions Park will include site clearing and grading of approximately 4 acres; storm water management utilities and an infiltration basin; tennis courts; pickleball courts; basketball courts; perimeter lighting for all courts; an asphalt parking lot; benches; picnic tables; a bicycle rack; a tot lot playground; and a swing set.
Council members also passed a resolution authorizing a contract with T&M Associates to provide engineering services related to the development of Traditions Park. The contract is for an amount not to exceed $63,500.
In other business, liquor licenses in Tinton Falls have been renewed for 2020-21. Council members took the action during meetings in September and October.
Businesses that had their plenary retail consumption liquor license renewed are Twin Brook at Tinton Falls Inc. (Twin Brook at Tinton Falls); McLoone’s Tinton Falls LLC (McLoone’s); Woody’s TF Grille LLC (Woody’s Ocean Grille); Adova, LLC (Gargiulos Tinton Falls); Mimoza, LLC (Tally Ho Inn); and Menditto Inc. (Nettie’s).
Plenary retail consumption liquor licenses were also renewed for Tinton Falls Restaurant Inc. (Palumbo’s Ristorante & Liquors); GSPH Restaurants (The Pour House); Apple Food Service of Tinton Falls Inc (Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar); Village Falls, LLC (MJ’s); Tinton Falls Lodging Realty, LLC (Aqua Restaurant & Lounge); and Courtyard Management Corporation (Courtyard by Marriott).
Each business that has a plenary retail consumption license paid a $2,500 annual fee.
Council members renewed plenary retail distribution liquor licenses for 3-Queens Inc. (Tinton Falls Buy Rite) and Reva Enterprises LLC (Pinebrook Liquor & Deli).
A plenary retail distribution liquor license was also renewed to John McDonnell, a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee acting on behalf of F&T Spirits Inc.
The annual fee for each plenary retail distribution liquor license is $2,500.
The Seabrook Village Residents Association (Seabrook Village) had its club liquor license renewed. The annual fee paid by Seabrook Village was $180.
