The South River Police Department charged a 24-year-old resident for allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old man multiple times on Oct. 29 on Leland Avenue.
Patrol units responded to a report of a disturbance in the roadway involving approximately 10 individuals at 7:42 p.m. on Oct. 29, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old male with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. The male was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he was listed as being in critical but stable condition, according to police.
The suspect was located nearby after leaving the scene and reportedly striking a parked vehicle, according to police.
The man was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, stalking, and multiple motor vehicle violations, according to police.
He was lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick pending court proceedings, according to police.
