Criterion Sentinel Board of Education results

There were elections for seats on the Boards of Education (BOE) in Edison, Metuchen and Woodbridge on Nov. 3.

The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office at this time. The results are not final and it is not known when the results will be final.

The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.

Edison – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. Thirteen candidates are vying for the three seats. The candidates are incumbent Jing Wei “Jerry” Shi; and newcomers Brett Baker, Padmaja Chinta, Anthony DePasquale, Ernest Kregeloh, Christo Makropoulos, Yash Pandya, Mohin K. Patel, Sparshil Patel, Clifton Prescod, Brian Rivera, Maria Wise and Virginia R. White.

Shi, Patel and White are running on the Edison First slate and Kregeloh is running on the Improving Education Together slate.

As of Nov. 4, Mohin K. Patel with 9,418 votes, White with 9,112 votes and Shi with 8,649 votes are leading in the race.

DePasquale has 6,396 votes, Pandya has 6,246 votes, Wise has 6,110 votes, Chinta has 5,923 votes, Baker has 3,326 votes, Prescod has 2,648 votes, Makropoulos has 2,613 votes, Kregeloh has 1,886 votes and Rivera has 97 votes. There are 97 write-in votes.

Metuchen – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. The race is uncontested. The candidates are incumbents Brian D. Glassberg and Dan Benderly; and newcomer Hazel-Anne M. Johnson-Marcus.

Glassberg and Johnson-Marcus are running on the slate Equity and Action.

As of Nov. 4, Johnson-Marcus has 3,715 votes, Glassberg has 3,642 votes and Benderly has 3,149 votes. There are 51 write-in votes.

Woodbridge – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. The race is uncontested. The candidates are incumbents Marie Anderson, Brian Molnar and Frank Della Pietro III.

As of Nov. 4, Anderson has 17,870 votes, Molnar has 17,473 votes, and Della Pietro III has 16,395 votes. There are 480 write-in votes.
