Election updates: Hillsborough committee, school board

Voting on Election Day, voting ballot

There were elections for seats on the municipal governing body and Board of Education in Hillsborough on Nov. 3.

The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Somerset County Clerk’s Office as of 2 p.m. Nov. 5. Mail-in ballots can be received through Nov. 10, and provisional ballots will be tabulated post-Nov. 11. Certification is expected as of Nov. 23.

The results are not final and it is not known when the results will be final.

The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.

Hillsborough Township Committee, two seats available:

Incumbent Republican Doug Tomson, currently serving as mayor, received 10,145 votes.

Republican Janine Ericsson received 9,409 votes.

Democrat Donnetta Johnson received 9,204 votes.

Democrat David Brook received 9,078 votes.

There were 5 write-in votes cast.

Hillsborough Township Committee, three seats available:

Cynthia DeCavalcante “Cindy” Nurse received 10,534 votes.

Paul Marini received 8,525 votes.

Benjamin Wilson Kidd received 6,068 votes.

Ann Harris received 5,752 votes.

Judith C. Haas received 5,336 votes.

Lorraine A. Soisson received 4,030 votes.

There were 55 write-in votes.
