Two deaths reported after three-vehicle collision in Cranbury

A serious motor vehicle crash has occurred on Route 130 northbound and southbound between Half Acre Road and Dey Road in Cranbury Township.

The Cranbury Police Department and numerous emergency personnel are on scene, as of 10 a.m. Nov. 11, according to messages posted by the Cranbury Police Department on Nixle.

As of 11:30 a.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Michael J. Owens of the Cranbury Police Department announced that the collision was fatal, and is under investigation.

The initial investigation conducted by Sgt. Douglas Mayer of the Cranbury Police Department and Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined the collision occurred at approximately 5:48 a.m. Nov. 11 near South River Road.

The collision involved three vehicles and resulted in the deaths of two people whose identities are being withheld pending notification to the next of kin, according to the statement from the prosecutor’s office.

Four other individuals were transported from the scene to two nearby hospitals for medical attention.

The South River Road jughandle is closed and access is denied south bound on South River Road approaching the area.
