Bailey, Bonafide, McLafferty win seats on Millstone school board

MILLSTONE – Two incumbents and one newcomer have won three-year terms on the Millstone Township K-8 School District Board of Education.

The board oversees the operation of the Millstone Township Primary School, the Millstone Township Elementary School and the Millstone Township Middle School.

The candidates who ran in the uncontested election on Nov. 3 were incumbents Cynthia Bailey and Peter Bonafide, and Mark McLafferty. The new terms will run from January 2021 through December 2023.

As of Nov. 13, according to results posted online by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, Bailey received 4,357 votes, McLafferty received 4,305 votes, and Bonafide received 4,291.

The results are unofficial and will remain unofficial until they have been certified by the county.

Bailey has lived in Millstone for nine years and joined the board in 2014.

Bonafide has lived in Millstone for six years and joined the board in 2018.

McLafferty was making his second bid for a board seat, having run as a write-in candidate in 2019.
