Sport Shorts – Atlantic Hub and Independent

Saint John Vianney High School, Holmdel, participated in the NCAA Letter of Intent Signing Day on Nov. 11. Seven SJV student-athletes signed a letter of intent to continue their education and athletics in college. Those athletes are: Girls Lacrosse: Caroline Dillon (Neptune), St. Leo University; Alexis Lauricella (Marlboro), Harvard University; Victoria Shenk (Atlantic Highlands), Rutgers University; Softball: Haley Ahr (Union Beach), Marist College; Girls Basketball: Katie Hill (Colts Neck), University of Richmond; Girls Track and Field: Cara Plumaker (Atlantic Highlands), Bryant University; and Wrestling: Joseph Butler (Freehold), The Citadel.

 

The Ranney School, Tinton Falls, participated in the NCAA Letter of Intent Signing Day on Nov. 11. Emily Zimmermann of Spring Lake signed a National Letter of Intent to swim at Villanova University. Zimmermann, who has served as team captain of Ranney’s swim team over the last two years, holds school records in the 100 breaststroke, 200 IM and is part of the record-holding 200 freestyle relay. She was named Ranney School’s 2020 Female Athlete of the Year. Zimmermann has been accepted into the nursing program at Villanova.
