Metuchen mayor urges residents to ‘think’ before gathering ahead of Thanksgiving due to uptick in cases

METUCHEN – Metuchen Mayor Jonathan Busch urges residents to “please think before you gather” ahead of Thanksgiving as the borough sees 20 new COVID-19 cases – one of the borough’s highest weekly totals since the novel coronavirus pandemic began.

The mayor posted the number of reported new cases in a social media post on Nov. 25. Six new cases were reported for Nov. 25, five new cases were reported for Nov. 24, one new case was reported for Nov. 23, three new cases were reported for Nov. 22, two new cases were reported for Nov. 20 and three new cases were reported for Nov. 19.

As of Nov. 25, Metuchen has a total number of 258 cases. The borough has lost three residents to COVID-19, according to Middlesex County.
