MILLTOWN – In efforts to keep residents up to date as coronavirus cases rise, Mayor Trina Mehr said officials will update resource links on the borough’s website and provide updates at council meetings.
Mehr said, in a video on Nov. 22, county officials began its weekly meetings again with mayors as the second wave of COVID-19 is currently hitting the county, state and country.
“[County officials] shared since Nov. 1 to now, the number of cumulative cases account for 18.5 percent, so one in five of the cases has occurred since Nov. 1,” she said.
As of Nov. 25, Milltown saw two new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of cases to 189. The borough has lost four residents to COVID-19, according to Middlesex County.
Mehr said the number one priority is to keep everyone safe.
“Services in Milltown [remain] uninterrupted,” she said. “We want to keep our small businesses open. We need to do our part to be careful, wear a mask and social distance.”
Borough Hall remains open by appointment if needed. Council meetings will continue through Zoom.
