The North Brunswick Public Library will offer a selection of engaging, informative and fun programs, both online and outside the library, during December.

  • The Consumer Fraud Prevention virtual workshop, in collaboration with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.

Learn about identity theft, grandparent scams and suspicious messages from the “IRS,” and how to avoid getting scammed.

  • “Just Say Yes to Fruits & Vegetables” is a joint venture between the library and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Free nutrition workshops are offered by educators from NJ-SNAP-Ed.


– Meal Planning, 6 p.m. Dec. 2: Learn how to plan easy, healthy meals using low cost, readily available foods. Registration is required at

  • The Virtual Fiber Arts Club will meet virtually at 10 a.m. Dec. 4 and 18.

Join Librarian Barbara for an hour of any fiber arts craft you are working on (needlepoint, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, etc.). This is a gathering of fiber arts enthusiasts of all skill levels. No instruction is given.

  • Outdoor Tai Chi will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 5 and 19.

Participants age 16 and older can join instructor Vikram Sarath for free Tai Chi sessions on the library’s front lawn, 710 Hermann Road, North Brunswick. Beginners are welcome.

Social distancing will be observed. Appropriate face coverings are required until class begins.

  • A Pencil Shading Drawing Workshop will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Artist April Zay will help students learn about light and shading.

Participants will need white paper, drawing pencils (or a regular No. 2 HB pencil), a ruler and an eraser.

  • “Take Back Your Health Tuesdays” is a collaborative effort between the library and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey – Community Outreach & Engagement.
