Alleged drunk driver accused of fatally injuring co-worker during work

A New Brunswick man has been charged with the killing of another man who he fatally struck with a vehicle on Jan. 8.

 

Leovigildo Comisario-Salazar, 32, of New Brunswick, charged with vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated following an investigation by Officer Daniel Mosakowski of the Monroe Police Department and Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation determined that at approximately 4:08 p.m., Comisario-Salazar was operating a commercial truck at 433 Schoolhouse Road when he struck and killed his coworker Pedro Lopez Lopez, 33, of New Brunswick, according to a statement provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Michael J. Biennas of the Monroe Township Police Department.

Comisario-Salazar was charged with being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, according to reports.
