JAMESBURG–The Borough Council approved a resolution authorizing the submission of a New Jersey Department of Transportation (DOT) grant application to fund Grand Street and McKnight Avenue road repairs.

Borough Administrator Scott Frueh said currently the borough rotates paving projects and it was determined that these streets were in need of repair.

The borough will apply to the DOT for Municipal Aid 2021 Grant Funds through the NJDOT Electronic SAGE Program, according to the council.

Frueh said the estimated total cost for the road improvements is about $407,420, subject to DOT approval.

The council approved the resolution authorizing the electronic grant application on Jan. 20 during the council meeting via video conference.

Frueh said the project cannot be completed without these grant funds.
