New CBS drama The Equalizer, starring Queen Latifah, will debut on Sunday, Feb. 7, immediately following CBS’ broadcast of Super Bowl LV. The new series premiere will air at approximately 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. To answer your question, this is indeed a reimagination of the original TV series, with Latifah playing the role of Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those who have nowhere else to turn. To most, she appears to be an average single mom, raising a teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer, a guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden. An interesting element of the series is Robyn’s clandestine work remaining a secret from her smart and observant daughter.
