Former Bordentown City Mayor Joe Malone and Targonski helped create the Bordentown Holiday Train Show that ran for 10 years.

Targonski’s wife, Nancy, is said to have given the two men the idea to coordinate a model train show to give the area a unique, special event for the holiday season.

The train show was used to gain support for local businesses in the downtown area and was showcased in the Old City Hall in Bordentown City.

Targonski was also part of the Delaware River Yachtsmen League and it said that he and his wife were both avid boaters.
