The North Brunswick Municipal Alliance Committee, with support from Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack and the Township Council, Superintendent of Schools Brain Zychowski, along with the North Brunswick Township High School and North Brunswick Township Middle School, held a successful School Prevention Program, known as the  2021 Women’s and Men’s Leadership Conference on March 30.

One hundred students selected from the eighth and 11th grades participated in a mentorship/leadership series enhancing their skills on communication and education on good life choices. It was held virtually, and also for students learning in-person at both schools.

“Students were very engaged, wonderful communication skills demonstrated throughout the conference and bright leaders for the future,” said Lou Ann Benson, director of the North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services, which ran the event.

There were three sessions in total: one for the female students, one for the male students, then all students came together for the last session.

The program is sponsored from grant funds from the Govern’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA).
