Spotswood VFW to hold blood drive on April 6, 20

More than 40 blood donors supported the Old Bridge Elks blood drive on Sept. 29 with their lifesaving blood. One unit of blood can help up to three different patients, so 162 lives will be impacted from this blood drive. The blood supply is at a dangerously low level due to COVID-19, so New Jersey Blood Services is desperately seeking large venues where blood drives can be held while maintaining social distancing.  For more information on hosting a blood drive, email SLynch@nybc.org. The mission of New Jersey Blood Services is to provide an adequate blood supply to hospitals and their patients. They require 1,500 donations each day to treat patients ranging from trauma victims to newborn babies and their mothers to cancer patients.
