A Jefferson Road resident was scammed out of $2,950 in an online scheme in which she emailed back and forth with someone who she believed was her best friend, according to police reports. The victim mailed various gift cards to the scammer via email at the scammer’s request, until she realized the person was not her friend. The incident was reported April 11.
Cash and other items were stolen from several unlocked cars that had been parked in their owners’ driveway or open garages on Nassau Street, Mercer Street and Parkside Drive between April 10 and 11.
A Panasonic brand electric bicycle belonging to a Bunn Drive resident was reported stolen from a parking garage near the victim’s apartment complex. The bicycle was recovered by the Westampton Police Department. The incident was reported April 7.
A Redding Circle resident lost $4,900 in an online scam involving a man that she met online. The man sent her a check for $14,000 and asked her to reimburse him for $4,900 via CashApp and Google Play gift cards. She did so, and then realized the $14,000 check was bogus and did not clear the bank. The incident was reported April 6.
A beige canvas shopping bag containing $510 worth of items was reported stolen from a shopping cart that the victim had left unattended for a short period of time on Nassau Street. The incident was reported April 6.
Someone has been stealing copies of the New York Times newspaper from in front of a Nassau Street business. The theft occurred on three separate occasions. It was reported April 4.
A thief stole a wallet from inside the victim’s purse while it was left unattended inside a business on North Harrison Street. The victim reported a monetary loss of $260 in the incident, which was reported April 2.
A Hamilton Avenue home was burglarized overnight between March 31 and April 1, but nothing was reported missing. The house was unoccupied during that time. The burglary was discovered by the homeowner after observing footprints that the burglar had left in the house.
A 41-year-old Princeton man was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a call for an unruly person on Witherspoon Street on March 30. The man was also given a summons for possession of an open container of alcohol on public property.
