Alexander, Faber will seek new terms in Upper Freehold Township

UPPER FREEHOLD – Two members of the Township Committee in Upper Freehold Township will seek two new three-year terms in 2021. The new terms will run from Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2024.

According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, Republicans Stephen Alexander and Robert Faber have filed nominating petitions to run for office and to retain their seats on the governing body.

No Democrat filed a nominating petition to run for a seat on Upper Freehold’s governing body.

An individual who wants to run for Township Committee as an independent candidate has until June 8 to file a nominating petition and secure a place on the November general election ballot.

During the June 8 primary, a candidate may be nominated by write-in votes to run with a political party affiliation (Republican or Democrat) in the November general election.

All five members of the Upper Freehold Township governing body are Republicans. Alexander and Faber are joined on the Township Committee by Dr. Robert Frascella, Stanley Moslowski Jr. and LoriSue H. Mount.

According to a 2019 U.S. Census estimate, the township had a population of 7,077 residents.
