WALL TOWNSHIP – Five Wall Stadium Speedway stock car racing divisions will be in action when the one-third mile high-banked paved oval opens the 2021 stock car racing season on April 24. Grandstand seating will open at 4:30 p.m., with qualifying slated for 5:30 p.m. and the first main event planned for 7 p.m.

The headlining Modifieds are set for a 40-lap main event with defending champ Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Jackson’s Steven Reed and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River all expected to compete in the series, according to a press release.

The Sportsman title chase will be tight with Jackson’s Jarret DiGiantomasso defending his crown with top runners Jake Nelke of Manahawkin and Carsten DiGiantomasso of Jackson also expected to see Sportsman action.

Two-time Factory Stock champion Elliot Wohl of Beachwood will lead the full-fendered cars into opening night competition, while former champs Scott Riggleman of Manchester and Mike Montano of Freeport, N.Y., are also expected to see action.

The race for the title in the Fast 4 division promises to be tight with defending champion Ryan Maher of Neptune City trying to hold off a field of talented competitors.

The Legend Cars will also offer strong title competition as Peter Bruno of Little Silver is expected to defend his 2020 crown. All four support divisions will battle in 25-lappers on opening night, according to the press release.

On April 24, the speedway office will open at 9 a.m. so competitors and crew members can obtain their licenses for the season and avoid afternoon lines. The pit area will open at noon for race car technical inspections and practice sessions will begin at 2 p.m.

The complete regular season schedule, which runs on Saturday nights through early October, is available at wallspeedwayracing.com. The post-season Thanksgiving weekend Turkey Derby is also being planned.
