The Office of Continuing and Professional Studies at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, will offer part-time coding bootcamps to train adults with the skills needed to enter the field of technology.
Coding bootcamps offer an accelerated path to landing jobs in roles such as Java Developer, Software Engineer, Back End Developer, Application Developer and Front End Developer with competitive base salaries, according to a press release.
The curriculum is designed to teach the technologies and methodologies that industry employers look for when hiring entry level developers, without the time or financial commitment of a computer science degree, according to the press release.
Throughout the duration of the high-tech, high-touch program, students dedicate 1.5 hours to live, personally tailored micro-lectures and an additional 13 to 18 hours of self-paced learning each week. Opportunities to enrich the learning experience are offered through weekly one-on-one meetings with mentors, a responsive Slack community, office hours and career services, according to the press release.

Gov. Phil Murphy has signed Executive Order No. 237, permitting summer youth overnight camps and day camps for the 2021 season.
The Executive Order requires all overnight camps and day camps to follow COVID-19 health and safety protocols outlined by the New Jersey Department of Health, according to a press release from the Governor’s office.
“As cases of COVID-19 and hospitalizations continue to decline, coupled with millions of New Jerseyans rolling up their sleeves to be vaccinated, we are able to move forward with reopening programs across our state,” Murphy said.
To mitigate the transmission of COVID-19, the Department of Health guidance includes the following requirements:
• Daily health screenings for staff, campers and volunteers;
• The use of infection control protocols such as face masks, cohorting, social distancing, hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting;
• Policies and protocols for when a staff member or camper receives a positive COVID-19 test result;
• For overnight camps, unvaccinated staff and campers must receive a negative test result within 72 hours of arriving on-site. All staff and campers will be required to receive a test within three to six days of arrival.
