Bryan Bidlack has served South Brunswick for 22 years, as head of the Department of Community Development since 1999, and as deputy manager the past three years.
On April 27, the South Brunswick Township Council appointed Bidlack as the acting township manager since manager Bernard Hvozdovic began as municipal administrator in Princeton on May 3.
Bidlack has supervised professional and administrative staff and the township’s land use consultancy, and has assisted in the preparation of township budgets and participated in the formation of collective bargaining agreements for many years, according to information provided by the township.
Before he began service to South Brunswick, Bidlack was engaged in various land-use administration capacities since 1990 for Upper Deerfield Township in Cumberland County.
His 30 years of cumulative municipal government experience have prepared him for this current assignment, according to officials.
“I wholeheartedly agree with the Township Council’s expression of support for Bryan Bidlack. In my opinion he has the experience and manner that will advance our municipal government’s success. Bryan understands that our primary goal is to deliver essential services at the best price point,” Mayor Charlie Carley said in the statement. “In the past few weeks, I have heard from many other department heads expressing support for Mr. Bidlack and I have every confidence that he will succeed in the role of township manager with the support of our team.”
Bidlack said in the statement, “I am honored that the mayor and council have entrusted me with this position. I look forward to serving the community and most importantly I am determined to ensure the quality of life for all in South Brunswick is preserved.”
