Two burglars escaped with more than $40,000 worth of designer sunglasses and frames after they broke into the Lenscrafters store at Marketfair on April 25, according to reports. Police were sent to the mall on Route 1 after a glass break alarm was activated. The burglars used a punch tool to shatter the outside window and entered the store, where they smashed open the display cases and took the sunglasses and frames.

Suspected drug activity in the Wellington Estates neighborhood resulted in charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia against a Trenton man on April 15. Police were sent to investigate a black Mercedes-Benz sedan suspected of involvement in drug activity, and stopped the car for speeding as its driver attempted to leave the area, according to reports. The police department’s K9 dog detected narcotics in the car, and a search of the vehicle uncovered four baggies of suspected cocaine, assorted drug paraphernalia and a set of brass knuckles, which is a prohibited weapon in New Jersey.

A Trenton man was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking an assortment of items  valued at $1,074, including several Fitbit smartwatches, from Target on Nassau Park Boulevard on April 13. He had left the store before police arrived, but he was found at the NJ Transit bus stop after a search of the area. He was also discovered to have an outstanding warrant from the Pennsauken Police Department, according to reports.

A Ewing Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a single-car crash on Carnegie Center Boulevard on April 13. The car he was driving struck several curbs before coming to a stop, sideways, on Carnegie Center Boulevard near Route 1.

A Hamilton Township woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was stopped for driving 33 miles per hour over the speed limit on Old Trenton Road on April 11. She was also observed swerving in the roadway. Alcoholic beverages were allegedly found inside the car, according to police.
