The Princeton Battlefield Society (PBS), which is in its 50th anniversary year of operation, continues a 2021 program of educational and commemorative events this weekend at Princeton Battlefield State Park on Mercer Road.

The program on June 13 in Princeton will run from 12-3 p.m. and feature several activities postponed from Memorial Weekend due to inclement weather.

A major feature of this event will be a sale of pre-owned American History books, many donated by several noted Princeton area scholars of the American Revolution and the “Ten Crucial Days” campaign of Dec. 25, 1776, to Jan. 3, 1777, according to a press release.

Other features of the program will be Battlefield tours at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. led by Larry Kidder, author of “Revolutionary Princeton” and many other recent books and articles on the American Revolution in New Jersey.

Also on hand will be David Price, author of several notable works on the Ten Crucial Days campaign, to sign copies of his books.

In addition, historical educator Will Krakower will present a musket firing demonstration.

Finally, a benefit sale of items at the PBS General Store (hand-painted miniature soldiers, maps, PBS apparel and Mercer Oak mementos) will be underway.

According to PBS, all the proceeds of sales of books and merchandise at this event will benefit PBS’ History and Heritage Fund and its principal project – a new Battle of Princeton exhibit at the Thomas Clarke House Museum on the Battlefield.
