North Brunswick primary election results

NORTH BRUNSWICK – For incumbent Democrats Cologero “Carlo” Socio and Dr. William Lopez, who ran unopposed in the primary to try to reclaim their three-year seats in November for the North Brunswick Township Council, their vote counts were 1,395 and 1,428, respectively.

There were 10 write-in votes recorded.

No petition was filed for the Republican Party for their primary.

There were 14 write-in votes tallied.

For the one-year unexpired term, which is currently held by Democrat Rajesh Mehta, he received 1,385 votes.

There were eight write-in votes accounted for.

On the Republican side, there was no candidate listed on the ballot, but five write-in votes were received.

For County Committee, Republican Susan Hucko received 21 votes. There were also 21 write-in votes recorded.

The vote counts were current as of 8 p.m. June 9. Votes are not official until certified by the Middlesex County Board of Elections.
The general election will be held on Election Day, Nov. 2.
