American Legion Post 459 held a pre-Flag Day commemorative program on June 13 at the post in North Brunswick.

Along with announcing that old flags can be dropped off in the American flag box located in front of the legion, 1015 Linwood Pl., legion members also called on all citizens of the township – and country – to display their flag this week as part of National Flag Week.

In addition, the legion supports men and women in uniform who are still deployed by sponsoring the “Taking a Soldier Home” program, open to all North Brunswick establishments to display on their counter. Visitors can take home a toy soldier and place it somewhere that will remind them to reflect and pray for all those who serve the country.
