Monmouth County Fair to mark return in 2021 following pandemic cancellation

The Monmouth County Fair, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, is returning in 2021 and will be held at the East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold Township.

Dates for the fair are July 21-25. Hours are 4-11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 21, 22 and 23; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 24; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, according to a press release from the Monmouth County Park System.

Once again, fair-goers will enjoy entertainment, 4-H animal exhibits, opening night fireworks and more.

Highlights include acts such Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt Show; Ready GO Dog Show; the Motorcycle Madness Thrill Show; Bwana Jim Wildlife Show; Hilby, The Skinny German Juggle Boy; Robinson’s Racing Pigs; Jeff Wilson Horsemanship; Tara Jones Pieceful Solutions Riding and Training, and more, according to the press release.

The fair also features live music, rides and games.

Main stage entertainment includes performances by the Big House Band on Wednesday night; Shore Thing on Thursday night; After the Reign on Friday night; Remember Jones and the Motor City Revue on Saturday night; and the Last Whippoorwill on Sunday.

Children’s favorite Yosi and The Superdads will be performing on the main stage during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

The fair’s Home and Garden Competition is also returning. Categories include crafts, needlework, art, photography, vegetables and flowers. A brochure and details are available online at www.MonmouthCountyFair.com

After judging, the entries will remain on display in the Home and Garden Tent. The tent will also feature daily demonstrations from the Central Jersey Beekeepers Association, Deep Cut Gardens staff and Thompson Park Creative Arts Center staff, according to the press release.

This year’s fair will once again feature rides provided by Reithoffer Shows and offer a separate Kids Zone Area. Ride wristbands will be available daily and allow fair-goers the chance to enjoy unlimited rides during their visit.

Ride wristbands will be available for purchase online at Reithoffer Shows’ ticket website (www.reithoffertickets.saffire.com) for $25 each. Online sales will start June 30 (approximately) and end July 20.

Wristbands will also be available for purchase at the fair for $25 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; and $30 on Friday and Saturday. Single ride tickets will also be available daily. Rides are offered weather permitting, according to the press release.

General admission to the fair is $8 per adult; children 17 and under are admitted free. On Sunday, seniors 65 and older and active military with card are free. Discounted pre-sale passes will be available through the Viply app starting July 15.
