Incumbent Keyport Borough Council members Dennis Fotopoulos and Matthew Goode, who received 237 and 234 votes, respectively, in the June 8 primary election, will be the Democratic candidates for council in the November general election.

The Republican candidates in November will be Rose Araneo and Ronald G. Peperoni Jr., who received 313 and 316 votes, respectively, in the June 8 primary election, according to results posted by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office.

Democrats currently hold a 5-1 majority on the Keyport Borough Council. The two available terms on the ballot are for three years.

 

The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources has announced the 2021 recipients of the Ann C. Edwards Scholarships. One of this year’s recipients is Grace Huntington, the daughter of JSAHR member Carolyn Broderick.

Grace, who is a resident of Hazlet, attends Mater Dei Prep, Middletown. She will use her $500 scholarship to attend Brookdale Community College.

The scholarships, awarded annually to the son or daughter of a JSAHR member, are part of the organization’s commitment to building the future through the education of young adults. The scholarship is named in honor of Ann C. Edwards.

Edwards, who is retired, was a founding member and past president of the JSAHR.
