Members of the Marlboro K-8 School District Board of Education have appointed Paul Ferland to fill an open seat on the board..

Following the recent resignation of board member Robert Daniel from the panel, Ferland, Sean McCauley and Todd Slawsky applied to fill the open seat.

On June 23, board members tapped Ferland for the position. He is an attorney in New Jersey and New York and is currently employed by the Cozen O’Connor law firm.

Ferland’s appointment will run through the remainder of 2021. The remainder of Daniel’s unexpired term will appear on the Nov. 2 school board election ballot.

Marlboro residents who want to run on Nov. 2 to serve the remainder of the unexpired term or to serve a full three-year term on the school board must file a nominating petition by July 26 to gain a position on the ballot. For more information, call the school district’s administrative office.
