The Township Committee in Freehold Township is renewing a shared services agreement with the Freehold Regional High School District to provide water treatment operations for Colts Neck High School.
On June 22, committee members renewed the agreement for licensed water treatment plant operations at Colts Neck High School, Colts Neck, which is part of the Freehold Regional High School District. The water will be provided through Freehold Township’s municipal systems.
Colts Neck does not provide public sewer or water service.
In other business, Township Committee members awarded a $679,379 contract to Hunter Jersey Peterbilt, Millstone Township, for the furnishing and delivery of three new 40,600 GVW 4×4 single-axle dump trucks.
According to a resolution, Hunter Jersey Peterbilt bid $713,379 for the contract. Freehold Township received a $34,000 trade-in discount to reduce the final amount to $679,379.
The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County Board of Directors recently appointed Colts Neck resident Ted Nappi as its new board chairman and chief volunteer officer.
Nappi, who has been a vice chairman of the nonprofit board for three years, succeeds Jennifer Lakefield, also of Colts Neck, who served as chair and chief volunteer officer since 2017.
Together, they helped steer the 2019 merger of The Community YMCA and the YMCA of Western Monmouth County to create the new countywide YMCA, according to a press release.
Nappi’s volunteer service with the Y began in 2008 when he was appointed to the Board of Managers of the Red Bank Family YMCA. He served until 2012 and returned in May 2014 as a member of the Y’s corporate board. During his seven-year tenure on the corporate board, he has served on the Property and Finance, Governance, and Development committees, and chaired the annual campaign for three years.
Nappi is a certified public accountant at WithumSmith+Brown, PC. He and his wife, Nereyda, have two daughters, both of whom swam on the Y’s competitive swim team.
Center Players Dessert Theater will present a return to live theater with a production of “Prelude to a Kiss” at the Kirk Tibbett stage in Lake Topanemus Park, Pond Road, Freehold Township, from July 16-24.
Written by Craig Lucas, this 1988 romantic comedy will be directed by Anthony
Marinelli, and tells the story of Rita and Peter, who marry after a whirlwind
courtship.
Following their storybook wedding, an elderly man congratulates Rita with a kiss and miraculously switches souls with her. The play examines if Peter and Rita’s marriage can endure the greatest test of all.
“We were approached by Freehold Township about the possibility of presenting a
live, outdoor theatrical event, and we are thrilled this production will represent our return to live theater,” Center Players Artistic Director Bernice Garfield-Szita said. “We encourage local residents to join us in a safe, beautiful outdoor setting to enjoy this heartwarming play.”
Performances are Friday and Saturday, July 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and
