Stephanie Greenberg, who has served as the Princeton Public Schools supervisor of Humanities for grades 7-12, has been named to be one of three assistant principals at Princeton High School.
Greenberg, who began her new duties July 12, joins Princeton High School Assistant Principals Rashone Johnson and Cecilia Birge. She will earn $130,843 – the same salary that she earned as the humanities supervisor.
She replaces former Assistant Principal Jared Warren, who resigned to become the principal of the Mercer County Technical Schools at the Sypek Campus in Hopewell Township. His resignation took effect June 30.
Greenberg earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Princeton University, and a master’s degree in politics and education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She also holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Rutgers University.
Greenberg taught overseas in South Korea and Taiwan. She taught in Brooklyn, New York, and in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District. Before coming to the Princeton school district, she taught at Millburn High School.
Superintendent of Schools Carol Kelley praised Greenberg, and said she will be a “tremendous asset” to Princeton High School. She is an experienced, engaging and accomplished educator who has demonstrated leadership and a passion for learning, Kelley said.
During the COVID-19 pandemic when the Princeton Public Schools switched to remote learning, Greenberg helped her staff of English and social studies teachers adapt to remote learning through a combination of professional development workshops and coaching.
Princeton High School Principal Frank Chmiel said he was pleased that Greenberg was chosen from among the field of candidates for the position. She is bringing three years’ worth of leadership experience to her new job, he said.
Greenberg said she is excited and looking forward to her new job.
