Hopewell police blotter

A 62-year-old Hamilton Township woman was charged with theft for allegedly taking a Fila brand bag from the emergency room at Capital Health Medical Center-Hopewell on July 12. The victim told police that there was $150 in cash plus other items in the bag.

A 27-year-old Trenton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police were alerted to check for an intoxicated driver on Route 31 near the Pennington-Hopewell Road July 13. Police found a vehicle matching the description of the one that was reported and stopped the car on County Route 612. The driver was determined to be intoxicated, police said.

A Bayberry Road resident reported that someone fraudulently gained access to their bank account and withdrew a substantial amount of money. The victim discovered the theft while monitoring their bank account. The incident was reported July 18.

Two residents – one who lives on Kentsdale Drive and one who lives on Harbourton-Mount Airy Road – told police that someone had fraudulently filed for unemployment benefits, using their names. Both incidents were reported July 19.

Police are investigating an assault in which the victim claimed that someone spit in their face during a verbal altercation outside of the victim’s Village Square residence on July 20.
