Two Hopewell Borough residents, who live on Seminary Avenue Hart Avenue, both reported July 23 that someone had fraudulently filed a claim for unemployment benefits in their names, according to reports.

A catalytic converter was removed from a car parked at Al’s Sunoco on Route 31 S. between July 22 and 23.

A 33-year-old Staten Island, New York, man was charged with driving while intoxicated after police were sent to investigate a suspicious car parked in the driveway of a Pennington Road residence July 25. Police determined that the driver had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to reports.

A Weldon Way resident reported that someone had fraudulently opened a bank account in their name and filed an unemployment claim, using their personal information. The incident was reported to police on July 28.

A BP gasoline service station employee told police July 28 that the same person has been fraudulently buying gasoline at the Pennington Road gas station over the course of the past month. The cost of the fuel purchased is more than $3,000.

A 56-year-old Ewing Township man was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Hamilton Township Police Department for creating false public alarms after police were sent to Tree Farm Road to serve the warrant Aug. 2. The man was turned over to the Hamilton Township Police Department.

A 60-year-old Hopewell Township resident was charged with obstruction of the administration of law and disorderly conduct for allegedly interfering with a police officer’s investigation of a motor vehicle stop on Tree Farm Road on Aug. 2. The man, who was not involved in the traffic stop, refused to leave after being told to do so.

A Poor Farm Road resident reported the theft of a Troy Built lawn mower, valued at $3,000, from the front of their property Aug. 4.
