According to a press release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, at 5 p.m. Aug. 23, the Freehold Borough Police Department received a 911 call from an individual who reported a shooting at a Lloyd Avenue residence.

Responding police officers located Reashaun Billingsley, 18, and a second male victim inside the home. Billingsley was unconscious and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the press release.

Billingsley received emergency medical treatment at the scene and was transferred to CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, where he was pronounced deceased at 6:04 p.m. The second victim sustained a graze wound to his leg, according to the press release.

An investigation conducted by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Freehold Borough Police Department determined Billingsley and the second man had been sitting on the front porch of the Lloyd Avenue home when a sedan approached them.

At that time, the rear seat passenger started shooting at the two men, causing them to flee into the home after Billingsley was wounded. Authorities allege the shooter was Conteh, according to the press release.

Conteh was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Aug. 24 in Manalapan and remains incarcerated pending a detention hearing to be scheduled in state Superior Court. He faces a life sentence on the charges that have been lodged against him, according to the press release.
