Homicide victim identified as North Brunswick man

The victim of a homicide in Piscataway has been identified as a North Brunswick man.

Authorities responded to the area of Washington Avenue and West Fifth Street following the report of a shooting around 3:58 p.m. Sept. 2. Upon their arrival, officers located and performed lifesaving measures on Alphonso Brown, 22, of North Brunswick, who sustained
apparent gunshot wounds, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Thomas Mosier of the Piscataway Police Department.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
