The Brookdale Community College Foundation will host the 42nd annual Education Open Golf Tournament on Sept. 23 honoring Louis Scaduto Jr., president, CEO and co-owner of Food Circus Supermarkets. The tournament will be held at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club, Howell, to support scholarships and student success.

“We are grateful for all the sponsors and golfers of this event whose generosity means hundreds of well deserving Brookdale students continue to receive the funds they need to pursue their education,” said Nancy Kaari, vice president of advancement.

“The many scholarships offered through the foundation enable many students to earn their associate degree at Brookdale, transfer to four-year institutions to achieve their undergraduate degree, or start their career after completing a certificate program,” she said.

Scaduto began his career in 1978 at the age of 14. He attributes his strength in leadership to the values instilled by his parents, Grace and Lou Sr.

After attending Brookdale Community College, Scaduto earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Monmouth College in 1986.

The tournament will be a full scramble beginning with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Many contests will provide fun at this all-day event, starting with brunch at 9:30 a.m. and ending with a cocktail hour and 50/50 at the start of the post-play awards and outdoor patio dining.

Foursomes and individuals are welcome to play or attend the dinner. Call 732-224-2260 for more information.
