Edison to hold reflection for 20th anniversary of Sept. 11 attacks

Edison held a remembrance of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at the memorial fountain by Papaianni Park on Sept. 11.

Mayor Thomas Lankey, the Edison Council and the Edison Recreation Department invite all Edison residents to the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Papaianni Park 9/11 Memorial Fountain, off Municipal Boulevard.

In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Council Chambers inside the Municipal Building, 100 Municipal Blvd., on the second floor.

Local dignitaries, Edison police and fire Honor Guards, bagpipers, vocalists, clergy and township officials will set the tone for this reflective occasion.

Papaianni Park is located at the end of Municipal Boulevard, which is off Route 27 in Edison.
