The 2021 New Jersey Senior Olympic Opening Ceremonies and the Parade of Senior Olympians will commence at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 outside the Woodbridge Community Center, 600 Main St., Woodbridge.

Woodbridge senior Olympians will carry the Olympic torch to officially open the athletic competition.

The New Jersey Senior Olympics features 14 sporting events where senior athletes 50 years of age and older compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

The New Jersey Senior Olympic Games are all-inclusive and will host two vision and hearing impaired Senior Paralympians – Luis Valladares, 61, competing in Track & Field, and Alice Eaddy, 64, competing in both Track & Field and Cornhole. Both athletes will race tethered to a guide runner and listen for a clapper in the field throwing events.

The New Jersey Senior Olympics is part of the National Senior Games Association and is supported by the New Jersey League of Municipalities and the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign.
