Princeton police blotter

A woman reported on Sept. 7 that she had mailed a personal check at the U.S. Postal Service mailbox on Palmer Square East, which was subsequently forged and cashed by a thief for $7,950.

A 23-year-old Princeton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped by police on Nassau Street Sept. 4 for failing to turn on the car’s headlights.

A bicycle valued at $800 was reported stolen from the front porch of a Greenview Avenue home Sept. 2. The bicycle had been left unlocked.

A Princeton-Kingston Road resident told police that two checks, which she had mailed at a U.S. Postal Service mailbox on Palmer Square West, had been altered from their original amounts and to whom they were made payable, resulting in a loss of $1,900. The incident was reported Aug. 31.

A 63-year-old Weehawkin woman was charged with shoplifting for taking two greeting cards from a store on Palmer Square West Aug. 30.

A Wilton Street resident reported that someone had fraudulently withdrawn a total of $3,000 from their account at three different PNC Bank locations in Washington, D.C. Aug. 26.
