SOUTH BRUNSWICK – The owners of a pit bull say there were attacked by their dog, unprovoked.
South Brunswick police responded to a New Road home on a report of two residents bitten by their dog around 1:35 p.m. Sept. 14.
Officers arrived to find a 63-year-old male in the home with several bite marks to his arms and legs, according to information provided by the South Brunswick Police Department.
A 65-year-old female was also found in the residence with bite marks to her wrist.
Another resident, a man in his 30s, had wrestled the dog and had it pinned down, police said.
According to the two victims, the male was in his bedroom when his pit bull breed dog came in and attacked him. Both residents said the attack was unprovoked, according to reports.
The woman ran into the room after hearing the screaming and was bitten by the dog, police said.
The male victim was taken by South Brunswick EMS and paramedics with serious injuries to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. The female was taken to the same hospital by North Brunswick EMS.
South Brunswick Animal Control took control of the dog.
