A 45-year-old Trenton man was charged with improper crossing of a highway, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (suspected crack cocaine) and hindering apprehension for giving police a false name after he was observed hopping over the concrete median on Route 1 in the area of Mount’s Motel Oct. 6, police said. He was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest, totaling $8,327, from Glassboro, Bellmawr and Hamilton Township. He was taken to the Mercer County Correction Center on the outstanding warrants.
Power tools and cookware, valued at a combined $950, were reported stolen from a house under construction on Princeton Pike in a burglary that occurred between Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. The burglar gained entry through a doorway opening that was covered by a sheet of plywood, police said.
A 39-year-old Elizabeth City, North Carolina, woman was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing traffic and other motor vehicle violations after she was found slumped behind the steering wheel of her Chevrolet Blazer, which was stopped in one lane on Province Line Road near Princeton Pike Oct. 2, police said. A police officer reportedly reached into her car and put the transmission into park, and allegedly noticed evidence of drug use. He deployed Narcan and the woman regained consciousness, according to reports.
Someone entered the yard of a home on Allegheny Avenue sometime between 3:20 p.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 3, but nothing was reported missing. The victim came home and discovered that someone had forced open the side gate and broke the latch, according to reports.
