OLD BRIDGE – Hermes Expo International hosted its 30th business networking expo at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, its new home.
For more than 30 years, the Hermes Expo has acted as a facilitator for Greek, Greek American and American businesses looking to create new economic ties by expanding their business connections through their extended network, according to Paul Kotrotsios, founder and president of Hermes Expo.
The expo has previously been held in New York City, Chicago and Washington, D.C. This is the first year the expo has been held in Old Bridge.
This year, the Hermes Expo on Oct. 20 highlighted the hospitality industry, including food service, food distribution, travel and tourism.
In cooperation with local officials, Old Bridge Mayor Owen Henry’s Office of Economic Development took an active role by promoting local businesses and the regional U.S. Chambers of Commerce.
Aphrodite Kotrotsious, who helps run the expo, said they decided to highlight the hospitality industry, which has been largely impact by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Hermes Expo International was sponsored by Grecian Deligh-Kronos, Sigmapharm Laboratories, Investors Bank, Piech Decorating, American Network Solutions and hosted more than 50 exhibitors from the United States and seven companies from Greece – Pitenis Gourmet Food, Sellas Olive Oil, Ktima Anagennisis-Nemea, CheMa Laboratories, Theoni Water, PMS Akadimos LTD, including the Chamber of Commerce of Korinthos in cooperation with VIP International.
