Hightstown voters seemingly returned incumbent Hightstown Borough Council members Susan Bluth and Fred Montferrat to serve again on the governing body in the Nov. 2 General Election.

Bluth and Montferrat, both Democrats, beat Republican Party challenger Bryan Fort to keep their seats. The term is for three years.

Bluth received 586 votes and Montferrat got 596 votes; Fort earned 444 votes, as of press time.

The election results are unofficial until the votes have been certified by Mercer County.

Bluth was seeking her fifth term and Montferrat was seeking his first full term. He was appointed in July to fill a vacancy when former Borough Councilman Dimitri Musing resigned to become the borough administrator.

Bluth and Montferrat will be sworn into office when the Hightstown Borough Council reorganizes in January.
