Eight designer handbags, an 18-karat gold Gucci watch and a gold ring were reported stolen from a home in the Le Parc development Sept. 24. The burglars forced open a locked window to gain entry and ransacked the bedrooms while the resident was away for a few hours, according to reports.

A Morrisville, Pennsylvania, woman who was found asleep behind the steering wheel of her Kia sport utility vehicle on the Route 1 off-ramp to Alexander Road was charged with driving while intoxicated Sept. 24. After reportedly being awakened by a police officer, the investigation revealed that she was intoxicated, according to the allegations.

A Trenton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after the Toyota minivan that he was driving struck the rear of a Honda sedan that had stopped for a red traffic signal on Route 1 and Fisher Place Sept. 23. The force of the impact spun the Honda into the intersection.

A Trenton man was charged with shoplifting after allegedly hiding bottles of liquor, toiletries and groceries in a large bag that he brought with him into the Wegmans grocery store, and then allegedly leaving the store without paying for them in the Sept. 17 incident.

A Hamilton Township woman whose car was stopped on South Harrison Street at Route 1 and that allegedly failed to move despite several changes of the traffic light to green was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of methamphetamine Sept. 23. Police reportedly found her asleep behind the wheel of her Chevrolet Camaro. When a police officer woke her up, she took her foot off the brake and the car began to move forward, nearly striking another police officer before she stopped the car, according to the allegations.

Paying for some grocery items and underpaying for others at the Wegmans grocery store resulted in a charge of shoplifting being leveled against a Plainsboro Township man Sept. 16. He used the Wegmans SCAN app on his smartphone to scan lower-priced items and then allegedly selected higher-priced items that he put in his shopping bag. He also allegedly concealed other items, for which he failed to pay as he checked out at the register.

A North Babylon, N.Y., man was charged with driving while intoxicated after his Lexus sedan crashed into the rear of a Toyota sedan that was stopped for a red traffic light on Route 1 at Washington Road Sept. 17. During the investigation, police found a half-empty bottle of vodka on the passenger floorboard of his car.

A Lawrence Township woman was charged with shoplifting for allegedly concealing food items inside her purse and then leaving Wegmans grocery store without paying for them Sept. 7.
