New Jersey State Trooper fatally injures pedestrian in South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – An officer-involved fatal collision is under review in Middlesex County.

Members of the South Brunswick Police Department responded to the southbound lane of Route 1 near Raymond Road in South Brunswick around 5:55 a.m. Nov. 11 following a report that a marked New Jersey State Police vehicle was involved in a fatal collision with a male pedestrian.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a male pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene and whose identity is pending confirmation, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

 

Following a notification from the South Brunswick police, detectives of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office responded and assumed control of the scene, according to the statement.

Neither the officer nor the pedestrian had been identified, as of press time.
